THATTA: Contractor accused of destroying graveyard

THATTA, April 6: The caretaker of Dargah Makhdoom Pir Lakho Lutfullah, Faqir Manthar Khaskheli, has alleged the contractor quarrying stone from the centuries –old graveyard was mounting pressure on him through Jherruk police.

He told a team of journalists, which had reached at Pir Lakho to visit graveyard, that he was under pressure to withdraw from the case filed by him. He said the contractor belongs to the Shirazi group, which was ruling the district government.

He said, a few months back, after orders from a local court, he had registered a case regarding quarrying stones from the Pir Lakho graveyard. He said in charge of the investigation police Jherrukm, along with the contractor, came to him and hurled threats of dire consequences.

He appealed to the higher authorities to give him protection and take action against the contractor.
