HYDERABAD, April 5: Lawyers continued protest against presidential reference that rendered Chief Justice of Pakistan ‘non-functional’ in several parts of the province on Thursday by observing token hunger strikes after boycotting courts proceedings.

In Hyderabad lawyers observed token hunger strike after boycotting court proceedings for an hour from 9.30 to 10.30 am. They demanded withdrawal of presidential reference and reinstatement of Justice Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry.

NAWABSHAH: Members of District Bar Association (DBA) including Ziaul Hassan Lanjar, Qazi Mujtaba, Rizwan Memon and Ameer Ali Mahessar continued boycott of courts and observed token hunger strike.

KHAIRPUR: Lawyers boycotted court proceedings after 11am and DBA secretary Asadullah Maitlo, Abdul Qayoom Shaikh and Ather Pathan observed hunger strike for about two hours outside the building of sessions’ court.
