Published April 5, 2007

KARACHI, April 4: Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ibad has said that the unexpected participation of youth in a large number in the recently held music conference made the event a success.

The governor made these observations during a meeting with a delegation of the Rafi Peer Theatre at the Governor’s House here on Wednesday.

Members of the delegation included Usman Pirzada, Faizan Pirzada and Samina Pirzada. Adviser to the Chief Minister on Finance M. A. Jalil, Chief Secretary Shakil Durrani and City Nazim Syed Mustafa Kamal, were present at the meeting.

The delegation informed the governor that ‘Sufi festival’ was scheduled to be held on May 3-7. The first programme of the series was held in Lahore in 2000.

He was informed that the main features of the festival included presentation of mystic and spiritual poetry and demonstration of Sufi art by cultural groups from various Muslim countries.—APP
