KARACHI, April 3: Eight ships carrying steel, chemical and to load naphtha are due to arrive at the outer anchorage on Wednesday, according to KPT sources.

Berthing activity at the wharves was maintained on the higher side where eight ships, Norasia Alps, Iran Tababtabaei, Independent Spirit to unload and load containers, Banglar Mookh to offload raw jute, Shanghai Pride to load rice, Hozan Maru to load fish, Lalazar and Shalamar to offload crude oil were berthed.

Six ships, Pacific Pioneer, Mol Asante, Aka Bhum, African Pal, Oriental Bouqet and African Robin departed on Tuesday, while Lalazar, Corin Thaikos, Shalamar and Sea Princess are due to sail out on Wednesday.

Cargo handling activity was on the higher side as the total tonnage rose to 0.154m tons comprising 36,264 tons of export tonnage and 0.118m tons of import cargo, mostly oils.

The following ships are due on Wednesday: Stolt Ami with chemicals, Y.M. Faha, Y.M. Fortune, Hyundai Highway, Haylay Nadhi and Tower Bridge with containers, Sea Glory to load naphtha and Selendang Mayang with 5,904 tons of steel.
