KARACHI, April 2: The retirement age for teachers should be extended up to 65 years.

This was demanded by the secretary of the Karachi University Teachers’ Society (KUTS), Dr Abid Hasnain.

He also pointed out that the teachers’ body had discussed the by-laws of the Karachi University Teachers’ Benevolent Fund (KUTBF).

A meeting of the KUTS general body has been convened on April 3 to finalise the KUTBF, Dr Hasnain added.

The KUTS members who departed during 2006-07 (the present tenure of the teachers' body) would be considered for the KUTBF, it was further pointed out.—APP
