KARACHI: Rs1m research fund

KARACHI, March 31: Dow University of Health Sciences has constituted a research fund worth Rs1 million to assist its faculty members in initiating small grant research projects.

DUHS Vice Chancellor, Prof Masood Hameed Khan, told this to journalists following the university Syndicate’s 22nd annual meeting held here on Saturday.

Syndicate approved Prof Shoaib Tauheed (Head of Physiology Department), Prof Naheed Sultan (Head of Surgery) and Prof Mohammad Abdullah (Head of Neurology Department) as the incumbent members of DUHS Board of Studies.

Prof Masood Hameed, who chaired the meeting, mentioned that the names of teaching faculty and administration staff for DUHS Nursing Institute were also finalized on the occasion.

The syndicate members unanimously approved a three-year extension in the service of DUHS Registrar, Dr Mehar Hansotia.

Increase in the salary of prayer leader and Muezzin of the DUHS mosque was also decided to be raised by the syndicate.—APP
