KARACHI, March 8: Low shipping activity was witnessed at the port where oil tanker M.T. Elka Vissiilki was allotted berth on Fotco terminal during the last 24 hours, says a PQA press release.

Birth occupancy remained at 30 per cent at the port where three ships occupied berths to load, unload wheat, furnace oil, and coal, respectively, during the period under review.

The port handled a cargo volume of 37,722 tons, comprising 37,377 tons imports and 345 tons of exports during the same period.Two vessels M.T. Stella and Jebel Ali were at the outer anchorage while M.T. Al-Salam sailed out to the sea.

Meanwhile, four more ships, Maersk Arkansas, Sima Paya, Aurora and Capt. George-L with containers and iron ore are due to arrive on Friday.
