KARACHI: Nazim for completion of projects by monsoon

By Our Staff Reporter

KARACHI, March 4: City Nazim Mustafa Kamal has directed the Karachi Water and Sewerage Board to complete all ongoing projects before the commencement of monsoon.

He issued such directives during a visit to review the pace of work on 16 water and sewerage projects in different areas.

The city nazim was accompanied by DCO Fazlur Rehman, Karachi Water and Sewerage Board MD Brigadier Iftikhar Haider, and other senior officials of the city government.

Taking serious notice of slow pace of work on laying a 72-inch-dia sewerage line in Bath Island and Clifton area, the nazim directed the officials concerned to accelerate the pace of work and complete the project before the monsoon rains.

He directed to gear up the efforts on laying a new line to supply six million gallons daily water to Lyari Town.

Mustafa Kamal also visited Pakistan Chowk, where a 66-inch-dia waterline was being laid down and directed the officials to take measures for opening Dr Ziauddin Ahmed Road for vehicular traffic.

The city nazim also visited pre-cast storm water drain project near Teen Talwar where he was informed that 70 per cent of the work had been completed.
