Security tightened

VEHARI, March 3: Security has been tightened in the district after the Multan bomb blast. Police commandoes have been deployed at sensitive and public places. Patrolling has also been increased on roads and streets.

Saddar DSP Malik Rafiq said on Saturday that pickets have been set up on entry and exit points to the district. Special guards and plainclothesmen have been posted around the district courts, judges’ residences and in shopping centers and bazaars, he added.

The DSP appealed to the people to keep their identity cards with them for their convenience.

According to unconfirmed rep-orts, Vehari police arrested about six suspects from various parts of the district. However, police denied the arrest of any suspect.
