KARACHI, Feb 16: Brisk berthing activity was observed at the port where five ships to load and unload containers, rice, furnace oil LPG and iron ore were berthed during the last 24 hours, said a PQA press release on Friday.

Meanwhile, four more ship carrying diesel oil containers, chemicals and LPG also arrived at the outer anchorage. Berth occupancy was maintained at 80 per cent as nine ships were currently occupying berths to load and offload containers, rice edible oil, furnace oil, chemical, LPG and iron ore.

A cargo volume of 98,684 tons comprising 88,467 tons of import and 10,217 tons of export cargo was handled. Al-Farabi and Al-Mirqab left the port.
