Protest against police
KASUR, Feb 10: More than 100 assistants (munshis) to lawyers staged a protest demonstration against police demanding quashment of FIR against two of their colleagues on Kutchery Road, Chunian, on Saturday.
Led by Rana Yaqoob, the munshis blocked the road for about 45 minutes by burning old tyres. They demanded that a kidnap case registered against Akram and Rana Shamshad should be quashed as they were innocent.
Meanwhile, the Chunian DSP and tehsil nazim Rana Abad reached the spot and assured them that justice would be done.
