Prisoner injured

RAWALPINDI, Feb 7: A convicted prisoner was injured after being attacked by his rival inmate in Adiala jail on Wednesday. Bilal Afzal attacked and injured Abdul Hameed on the jail premises after a group of prisoners was brought back to the jail from the court.

The two prisoners were overpowered by the security staff and put behind bars.

Meanwhile, two under-trial prisoners tried to escape from the custody of police in Taxila on Wednesday.

The police said the two prisoners held on charges of robberies were being brought back to the jail from a court in Taxila when they threw red chillies in the eyes of the police guards and tried to escape. But the guards immediately overpowered them.
