PESHAWAR: Government to spend Rs214m on uplift plans
PESHAWAR, Feb 5: The NWFP government has released Rs214.80 million for the second quarter of the Annual Development Programme (ADP) out of which Rs151 million will be provided to all 24 districts and Rs63.80 million to towns and tehsils.
Efforts will be made to increase the funds for the coming quarter due to the immense development needs of the province.
This was said by NWFP Minister for Local Government and Rural Development Sardar Mohammad Idrees at a meeting held at the office of LG&RD secretary recently.
Sardar Idrees directed the officials to ensure transparent and judicious use of funds and make efforts to benefit the deprived and neglected areas of the province.
The meeting reviewed progress on ongoing projects in the provincial metropolis and expressed satisfaction over the pace of work.
The meeting was briefed about district and tehsil wise distribution of the funds.
According to the breakdown Abbottabad district will get Rs6.7 million, Bannu Rs5.8 million, Battagram Rs3.8 million, Buner Rs4.8 million, Charsadda Rs7.8 million, Chitral Rs3.5 million, Dir Lower Rs59 million, Dir Upper Rs5.7 million, D.I. Khan Rs7.0 million, Haripur Rs5.5 million, Hangu Rs3.5 million, Karak Rs4.3 million, Kohat Rs4.9 million, Kohistan Rs6.4 million, Lakki Marwat Rs4.9 million, Malakand Rs4.8 million, Mansehra Rs8.5 million, Mardan Rs13.0 million, Nowshera Rs6.8 million, Peshawar Rs14.5 million, Swabi Rs7.6 million, Shangla Rs5.1 million, Swat Rs9.4 million and Tank Rs3.4 million.
