Anxious wait for Abbottabad

Published February 4, 2007

LAHORE, Feb 3: Abbottabad are still strongly placed to qualify for the Quaid-i-Azam Trophy Silver League final despite Lahore Ravi’s dogged resistance on the third day of the match at the LCCA Ground on Saturday.

Having conceded a lead of 152 on the first innings, Lahore Ravi survived all day to reach 323 for nine after resuming at 72 for one.

The home side now have a lead of 171 going into final day. The weather, which was overcast on Saturday, could disrupt play on Sunday and put Abbottabad’s hopes in disarray since they need all nine points to make next week’s final against Islamabad.
