BAHAWALPUR, Feb 3: About 150 people including seven women and 30 children suffered from nausea while at least 34 of them fell unconscious after taking meal at a function at Chak 65/DB, some 30 kilometre from here on Saturday.
According to Head Rajkan police, one Azam Bajwa invited scores of his relatives, neighbours and friends to the ceremony.
After having meal there, many of the guests started vomiting and fainted. They were rushed to a private clinic immediately, where they were provided medical aid.
Of them, 34 were brought to the Bahawal Victoria Hospital emergency for treatment.
Doctor at the hospital’s emergency ward told Dawn on telephone that those admitted to the facility were out of danger.
Two of the patients, Abdul Ghafoor Gill and an unidentified woman, who were stated to be serious were still under-treatment at the clinic at Head Rajkan.

According to police, three brothers— Javed, Waqqas and Mujahid - were on their way home after closing their shop when held up by three armed outlaws near Chak 56/DB. The brothers were deprived of valuables.
Similarly, six armed outlaws snatched a motorcycle from Munir Hussain near Chak 15/BC. Yazman police have registered the cases.
