LAHORE, Feb 2: Fine batting by Hafiz Khalid, Ayub Dogar and Atiq-ur-Rehman gave Sialkot the upper hand against Lahore Shalimar in the Quaid-i-Azam Trophy Gold League match at the Jinnah Stadium in Sialkot on Friday.

Khalid, batting at No 9, made a rapid 93 off 110 balls with the aid of eight sixes and four fours as Sialkot piled up 384 after resuming at 212-6. Thanks to Khalid’s big-hitting, Sialkot added 132 for the last two wickets.

Ayub hit 81 with eight fours and one six while Atiq contributed 70 with 11 boundaries.

At stumps Lahore Shalimar were struggling at 139 for six and still need 95 to avoid the follow-on. Medium-pacer Tahir Mughal took four for 70.
