PESHAWAR, Feb 2: The Sarhad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) and the administration of Town I Peshawar will join hands to launch a campaign aimed at beautifying the provincial capital.

This was decided at a meeting between the senior vice-president of the SCCI, Haji M. Israr Saraaf, and the nazim of Town I Peshawar, Haji Shaukat Ali, here on Friday. It was decided that a meeting of industrialists, businessmen and town administrators would be held soon at which the modalities of the proposed campaign would be worked out.

Speaking at Friday’s meeting, Haji Shaukat Ali said the local government in collaboration with the business community of the city would construct traffic intersections, besides conducting a survey to change the names of various roads.

He said the SCCI members would be briefed about the planned initiative. Industrialists would be asked to donate generously for the campaign. He added that municipal administrators would also be providing funds for the joint venture.—APP
