PESHAWAR, Jan 27: Tehsil Municipal Administrations (TMAs) of the NWFP have been directed to work in coordination with the Local Council Board and district governments to improve the service delivery system.

Speaking at a meeting of 54 Tehsil Municipal Officers on Saturday, NWFP Local Government and Rural Development Secretary Dr Hamaad Agha emphasised the need for bringing efficiency to the functioning of TMAs in the areas of water supply and sanitation.

He asked the participants to ensure timely utilisation of funds allocated for development projects by the provincial government.

The TMOs were directed to submit progress report in this regard to District Coordination Officers and Local Council Board (LCB) on the quarterly basis to evolve an effective coordination system.

The secretary also directed the TMOs to ensure timely payment of Wapda dues and arrears and submit the reports to the WAPA cell in LCB regularly.

LCB secretary Rehmat Ghazi, managers of various projects and officials of the department were present on the occasion.
