PESHAWAR, Jan 17: NWFP Education Minister Maulana Fazl-i-Ali Haqqani on Wednesday ordered an inquiry into the alleged irregularities in recent recruitments of PTC teachers in Peshawar district.
The minister in consultation with the provincial minister for information, Asif Iqbal Daudzai, has taken a strong notice of the public complaints regarding alleged irregularities committed by the education department officials in the recent recruitment of PTC teachers.
The provincial education minister ordered the Director Schools & Literacy Department to immediately conduct an enquiry into the matter. He has reiterated the resolve of Mutahidda Majlis-i-Amal government to ensure merit in recruitments and postings, a handout issued here on Wednesday said.
The education minister had received a number of complaints accusing the authorities concerned of violating the rules and regulations. It was alleged that the officers concerned had recruited candidates from one union council against the quota of another union council while distribution of posts at the union council level was also kept secret.
The education minister has appointed an enquiry officer with the directives to submit his report at the earliest.
The minister has urged all the officers and officials of his department to discharge their duties according to the rules and regulations.
He warned that no irregularity would be tolerated and any official found guilty of corruption would be proceeded against under the law.
