Lahore Ravi recover from poor start

LAHORE, Jan 12: Good batting by Ali Azmat, Nasir Jamshed and Waqas Ahmad helped Lahore Ravi recover to reach 271-8 against Multan on the first day of Quaid-i-Azam Trophy Silver League fixture at the LCCA Ground on Friday.

Ali Azmat was unbeaten with 75, opener Nasir hit 61 while Waqas Ahmed made 55 to rescue their side from the perils of 118 for five after Multan skipper Saeed Anwar Junior won the toss and decided to field first.

Ali Azmat, who hit 11 fours in his innings, and Waqas added 87 for the seventh wicket stand.

Multan, playing without lanky Shabbir Ahmed, bowled well with paceman Azharullah capturing four for 41in 18 overs. Shabbir was slated to play in this game but preferred rest because of fitness problem.
