PESHAWAR, Jan 12: Immigration authorities have arrested two Afghan nationals, Abdul Wali and Khairullah, attempting to travel abroad on genuine Pakistani machine-readable passports (MRPs), a senior official told Dawn.

This was for the first time that immigration police of the Federal Investigation Agency detained Afghan nationals with the latest Pakistani passports and computerised national identity cards, said acting Deputy Director Inamullah Khan.

While Wali was attempting to fly to Muscat, Khairullah wanted to go to Saudi Arabia via Muscat. Both were to fly by the same flight of the Gulf Airways, GF-785.

The two were sent to FIA passport circle for further investigations.
