KOHAT, Jan 7: Fourteen Bangladeshis were arrested at the Tor Pul Checkpost near Thall in Hangu district on Sunday. They were booked for entering the country without proper travelling documents.

According to officials, they had crossed into the Kurram Agency from Paktia province of Afghanistan and were on their way to Peshawar.

They were caught in Thall tehsil while travelling in a public transport.

Police has found contact numbers of some Arabs based in Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Afghanistan, the Dominican Republic and some Pakistanis.

Preliminary interrogations reveal that some unknown persons had moved them from Bangladesh to Afghanistan via India.

They were carrying seven dollars, 400 Pakistani rupees, 60 Afghanis, some drugs and papers written in Bengali.

The 14 detainees have been handed over to officials and may be shifted to Peshawar for futher interrogation.
