PESHAWAR, Jan 4: Many officers in various government departments were recommended for promotion here on Thursday. A decision to this effect was made at a meeting of the Provincial Selection Board which met here under the chairmanship of the chief secretary. The meeting was attended by the provincial additional chief secretary, secretary establishment and secretaries of the departments concerned.

The Board recommended officers for promotion to next higher posts as per details given below:

In Population Welfare Department, the board recommended regular promotion of five deputy directors/district population welfare officers (BPS-18) to the post of directors (non-technical)/executive district officers (BPS-19).

In the higher education department, the PSB has recommended the grant of moveover to one associate professor from BPS-19 to BPS-20 with effect from 01-12-2001. In schools and literacy department, the PSB recommended the regular promotion of one ex-deputy registrar education department from BPS-19 to BPS-20 and the acting-charge appointment of 11 employees from BPS-18 to BPS-19.

In the health department, the PSB recommended regular promotion of one employee to the post of principal (BPS-19) of the Postgraduate College of Nursing, Hayatabad, Peshawar, and the regular promotion of an eye specialist from BPS-18 to BPS-19.

In the environment department, the board recommended promotion of one assistant director fisheries (BPS-17) to the rank of deputy director fisheries (BPS-18). In works and services department, it recommended promotion of one superintending engineer/EDO (BPS-19) to the rank of chief engineer (BPS-20).

In the establishment department, two officers of PCS (SG) were recommended to be promoted from BPS-19 to BPS-20 on regular basis.—PPI
