PESHAWAR: Disposal of pension cases

Published January 5, 2007

PESHAWAR, Jan 4: NWFP Chief Secretary Ejaz Ahmad Qureshi on Thursday directed all departmental heads to ensure that all retired government employees got their dues in the shortest possible time and their pension cases were processed speedily.

Taking serious notice of numerous instances where pension cases of the retired employees were processed after a considerable delay and were kept on pending for months, thus causing the former government employees great inconvenience, the directive was conveyed to all administrative secretaries in a letter on Thursday.

The chief secretary warned of taking serious action against those elements who were found guilty of delaying the pension cases.

He ordered all departmental heads concerned to review all cases pending in different departments, and submit progress reports with status of each case in three weeks’ time.

He further directed them to ensure that all pension cases were finalised maximum by 45th day of the retirement of a government employee. —Correspondent
