KARACHI, Dec 30: The Sindh Institute of Urology and Transplantation (SIUT) here on Saturday organised a certificate distribution ceremony for participants of its Students Winter Voluntary Programme - 2006.
The ceremony attended by the students, from 33 different schools of Karachi, started with recitation from the Holy Quran by Ali Jawaid Dadabhoy (West Minister School).
Ameer Jumabhoy, a student from Singapore, presented a report with regard to voluntary work undertaken by him at the SIUT. This was followed by a series of presentations highlighting efforts of young volunteer (students) in developing the SIUT website, accumulating data and chalking out of programmes for fund raising and so forth.
Prof. Anwar Naqvi of the SIUT welcomed the guests and presented the activities of SIUT in delivering free health services to all needy patients. He also discussed the future programmes of the SIUT.
SIUT Director Prof Adibul Hasan Rizvi thanked the participants and distributed certificates among them.
The ceremony was also attended by parents as well as teachers, faculty members and well wishers of the SIUT. They were appreciative of the SIUT initiative and the enthusiasm of the children.p—APP
