Sindh clinch boxing title


PESHAWAR, Dec 29: Sindh won the third All-Pakistan boxing tournament by securing 16 points with two gold medals, three silver and four bronze here at the PSB Coaching Centre on Friday.

Sindh pugilists Mohammad Azeem and Mohammad Hassan Ali grabbed the gold medals in 57kg featherweight and 60kg lightweight respectively.

The silver medals were earned by Ali Jan (54kg), Akbar Ali (64kg) and Mohammad Ramzan (75kg).

Mohammad Ali, Badal Shah, Aamir Khan and Yasir Jameel bagged the bronze for Sindh.

Promising pugilist, Zahoor Khan of the NWFP-A was declared best boxer of the competition.

The NWFP-A team won second position by securing 16 points with two gold, two silver and six bronze medals.

Balochistan claimed third position with one gold, three silver and two bronze medals.

Sindh, Punjab, Balochistan, PAF, KESC and two teams from the NWFP took part in the competition.—APP
