By Our Sports Correspondent

LAHORE, Dec 27: Seven goals by an Indian, Dhruvpal Godara steered Diamond Paints to an 8 - 7 ½ win against Guardian Securities in the Polo Cup here on Wednesday. Shah Shamyl Alam scored the remaining goal for the winners.

For the Guardian Securities, who had 1 ½ goal handicap, Sattar Niazi fought hard by scoring four goals while Hamid Ali Mann added two.

Five goals by another Indian, Sameer Suhang, and three each by Taimur Ali Malik and Raja Samiullah propelled Guard Rice to an emphatic 12 - 5 ½ win against Master Paints.

Taimur Mawaz Khan chipped in with one goal for the winners.

Master Paints, having 3 ½ goal handicap, scored two goals through Sahukat Ali Malik.

Four-goal James Harper with the support of half goal handicap helped Moon Corporation edged out Army 5 ½ - 5.

The handicap advantage helped the winners to lead the first chukkar 2 ½ - 2 as Harper struck two goals. Asif Zahoor scored two goals for the Army.

After goalless second chukkar, Harper increased the lead to 3 ½ - 2 in the third one, converting a 40 yard penalty hit.

The action-packed fourth chukkar saw fight for the ascendancy, but Army despite scoring three goals failed to earn victory. For them, Asif scored two more while Omar Minhas one.

Abdul Haseeb Mehta struck one goal for the winners before Harper banged home his fourth and final goal through a field attempt to seal the fate of the match.
