KARACHI: SMI celebrates Quaid’s birth anniversary

KARACHI, Dec 26: Those associated with the Sindh Madressatul Islam feel proud that their institution is the alma mater of the Quaid-i-Azam, Muhammad Ali Jinnah. This was stated by acting principal of the Sindh Madressatul Islam, Shabbir Ahmed Qureshi. He was speaking to the students of the institution at a function held here on December 25 to mark the 130th birth anniversary of the Quaid-i-Azam.

The principal pointed out that the Quaid-i-Azam had great love for his alma mater as evident from the fact that the Quaid had bequeathed one-third of his property to it through his last will eight years before the creation of Pakistan, he added.

Shabbir Qureshi exhorted the students to mould their lives in accordance with the teachings and principles of the Father of the Nation.

He also urged them to concentrate on acquisition of knowledge and then contribute towards the progress and prosperity of Pakistan in accordance with the wishes of Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.

A delegation of teachers and students of Sindh Madressah visited the mausoleum of the Father of the Nation and laid a floral wreath and offered Fateha.—APP
