KARACHI, Dec 24: Extraordinary rush was witnessed at the Expo Centre on Sunday, the third and final day of the exhibition –All About Lifestyles Winter 2006 – with all six halls remaining packed to capacity all the day while thousands of people were seen waiting for their turn to enter the halls till the closing moments.

Customers kept visiting various stalls of consumer and other goods, as well as food stalls, in large numbers, especially in the evening.

The corridors for food stalls appeared to be the place of vital interest for families. Children had the thrill of being at a place where they were able to have fun and enjoy exciting sporting events.

Major brands at the exhibition had arranged distribution of gifts and presents among the children accompanying the visiting families.

Apart from shopping and entertainment, the visitors had the rare opportunity of assessing the great sense and talent in the new generation vis-à-vis environment, science, life, lifestyle, etc. Projects and models prepared and displayed by students of about 50 schools of the city turned out to be a big attraction at the exhibition. The projects reflected different themes based on clean and healthy environment, adverse effects of pollution, science and scientific gadgets, marine life, wildlife, civilized nation, rural/urban life, deforestation etc.

A big number of the project and models pertained to lifestyles, cultures and civilizations, Moenjodaro, heritage and provinces of Pakistan, Kashmir

and tribal/northern areas, etc. Some of them highlighted the depletion of ozone layer and its implications, as well as precautions to avert the looming catastrophe.

The students’ work also highlighted the significance of safety measures to escape devastation in natural disasters and calamities.

The visiting students, as well as their teachers and parents, acclaimed the children’s wisdom and talent.

A torch-bearing unit of Rangers commandos displayed air boot and different types of arms and ammunition, adding more attraction to the three-day extravaganza.

One of the most exciting shows was the all-breed dogs championship in which more than 200 dogs were presented by their owners. A competition among the dogs was also held and greatly appreciated by dog-lovers and other visitors.
