14 injured in Quetta blast

QUETTA, Dec 20: Fourteen people were injured when a bomb went off at a cycle stand near the City police station on Wednesday. The device was planted on a cycle that exploded at about 6:40pm at a corner of a street on the main bazaar of Liaquat road outside Farhan hotel.

The explosion smashed windowpanes of the hotel and nearby shops.

The injured were taken to the civil hospital.

They were identified as Adan, Khair Mohammad, Abdul Zahir, Mohammad Arshad, Tahir, Naseem, Asghar, Munir Ahmed, Naeem, Saleem, Sadiq, Bismiullah, Ruqiya and Umulkalsoon Bibi.

A doctor on duty said that six injured were admitted to the hospital and eight were discharged after first aid.

He said the condition of one injured was serious.
