By Our Reporter

RAWALPINDI, Dec 17: A high-level Chinese team on Sunday witnessed the first-ever Pakistan-China joint military exercises currently under way in Pakistan.

The aim of the exercises, named as Friendship 2006, is to benefit from each other’s experiences in planning and conduct of anti-terrorist operations.

The delegation headed by Lt-Gen Lu Dengming, commander of the Chendu military region, visited the exercise area near Abbottabad as the exercises come close to the culmination point.

The Chinese delegation was received by Inspector-General Training and Evaluation, Lt-Gen Masood Aslam, and senior officers of the Pakistan Army.

The visiting senior commanders expressed satisfaction over professional skills, dedication and commitment displayed by troops of the two countries.
