DADU, Dec 17: Family members and relatives of Gul Mohammad Jatoi, a police constable who was killed after Dadu Taluka Nazim Dadu Naban Khan Lund, his sons and servants stormed the old building of district jaila couple of months ago, observed token hunger strike outside old jail building on Sunday.
They were protesting against police for their failure to arrest the accused nominated in the murder case of Gul Mohammad.
Late Gul Mohammad‘s widow Ms Kaz Bano, sons Mohammad Umer, Ali Asghar, Ali Anwar, Imamuddin, Amir Khan, Gul Hassan, brothers Ghulam Shabbir, Photo Khan and cousin Shadi Khan observed token hunger strike outside old jail building where Gul Mohammad was allegedly shot dead by Mr Lund and his servants when he resisted their attempt to demolish the jail building.
The family demanded arrest of the main accused and withdrawal of bail granted to some of other accused. Ms Bano told reporters that she would never forgive Mr Lund and others.
She said that police were deliberately not laying their hands on the main accused Mehmood and Aftab Lund, sons of Naban Lund, and influential persons of Jatoi and Lund tribes and some government officials were pressuring her to settle the issue out of court.
Earlier, PML leader Ahmed Khan Lund (Naban’s brother), Dr Ghulam Ali Lund (Naban’s nephew), Syed Fida Hussain Shah and Saeed Ahmed Soomro went to Ali Akbar Jatoi’s otaq (guest hosue) who was head of the village and also a witness in the murder case.
