Teacher kidnapped

By Our Correspondent

SUKKUR, Dec 16: A high school teacher was reportedly kidnapped on Saturday while returning home from Sangi in the jurisdiction of Pano Akil police station near here on Saturday.

Nanik Ram, an English teacher at Government High School, Sangi went mysteriously missing while returning home from school. Sadhu Ram told police that his brother might have been kidnapped for ransom as the family had received a phone call from some unidentified men claiming they had kidnapped him.

But police disputed the brother’s claim and termed the kidnapping a farce. They said that Nanik Ram was heavily indebted and might well have gone in hiding to escape the wrath of his creditors.
