KARACHI, Dec 16: Muttahida Qaumi Movement chief Altaf Hussain in a telephonic conversation with the Awami National Party leader, Haji Ghulam Ahmed Bilour, has said anti-peace elements were conspiring to disturb the law and order situation in the city to pit people against each other.

In the conversation, that was held in the backdrop of Friday’s violence during strike call by transporters, the ANP leader assured the MQM chief of cooperation in foiling the conspiracy.

Recalling the two parties’ joint efforts in the times of Khan Abdul Wali Khan for establishing tranquillity and harmony between Pakhtoons and Mohajirs, Mr Hussain said that once again the anti-peace elements were conspiring to disturb the law and order situation of the city.

He told Haji Bilour that together, the two parties could defeat such conspiracies by not allowing such elements to disturb peace in the city. Mr Hussain also assured him that he would use his influence for the resolution of the issues and problems being faced by Pakhtoon population in the city.
