Cricket set to make debut at SA Games

DHAKA, Dec 13: The South Asian Games scheduled to be held in Bangladesh in 2008 will feature cricket for the first time, an official said here on Wednesday.

“We have decided to include cricket in the next South Asian Games in Dhaka,” Ishtiaq Ahmed Karen, the deputy general secretary of the Bangladesh Olympic Association, said.

“We hope all teams including cricket giants India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka will send their teams to the Games. India has already given its go-ahead,” he said.—AFP
