KARACHI, Dec 13: KRL whipped ZTBL by eight wickets in the Patron’s Trophy Cricket Championship quadrangular round tie at the UBL Sports Complex on Wednesday.
Pacemen Mohammad Irshad claimed four for 58in 18 overs and Abdur Rauf three for 51 in 16 overs as ZTBL, resuming at 124 for two, were dismissed for 253 in their second innings after lunch on the fourth and final day of the match.
KRL reached the winning target for the loss of two wickets in the 14th over. Saeed Anwar followed his 130 in the first innings with an unbeaten 34 in just over an hour with four hits to the ropes. Zulfiqar Jan finished eight not out.
Fast-medium bowler Mohammad Khalil got both the wickets for 17 runs in seven overs.
Earlier ZTBL skipper Aamir Bashir hit a fighting 71 with eight boundaries and night-watchman Shakeel Ansar made 48 while Faisal Naveed struck 53 off 80 deliveries with six hits to the ropes.
KRL mustered full nine points in the match after their previous match ended in draw due to rains.
