Coal mining in Chamalang

QUETTA, Dec 11: The Balochistan government on Monday set up three committees for resuming coal-mining in the Chamalang coal-field.

An official notification issued here said a brigadier or a colonel of the Corps XII would head the action and implementation committee, comprising representative of the corps, the contractor, arbitrators, Luni and Marri tribes, DCOs of Loralai and Kohlu and director of mines and minerals. The committee would be responsible for preparing and implementing development projects.

The payment and collection committee would be headed by the DCO of Loralai. Its members would include the EDO of Loralai and representatives of the contractor, Luni and Marri tribes. The committee would be responsible for collecting taxes and payment of salaries.

A finance committee was set up to look after financial affairs and payment of salaries. The committee’s members would include secretary finance, chief of section P&D, DCOs of Loralai and Kohlu and a senior officer.
