OKARA , Dec 9: A man killed his wife and an infant daughter near the Bulloky Sulemanki (BS) Link Canal, 20 kilometres from Okara, on Saturday. Police said accused Muhammad Akbar had no son and had been dejected over daughters’ birth. On Saturday, he took his wife, Firdous Bibi, and daughters Samina, Aqsa and Nisha, saying they were going to visit his sister-in-law in
Jandran Kalan. He took them to the BS Link Canal where he stabbed his wife and daughter Nisha to death, whereas his other two daughters ran away screaming. Later, he threw the bodies into the canal.
Okara District Police Officer Dr Usman Anwar said that the accused would soon be arrested. — APP
