QUETTA, Dec 3: An accountability court has convicted a former manager of the Sibi branch of the United Bank Ltd in a corruption case and sentenced him to five-year imprisonment. He has also been fined Rs2.5 million.
The Judge Chaudhry Muhammad Ashraf announced the Judgement against Noor Muhammad and said that the prosecution had proved the charges against the accused.
The federal investigation agency Quetta had charged the bank official with misusing his authority, causing a loss of Rs22,17,500 to the national Exchequer. In case of non-payment of fine, the convict will have to serve another term of three years.
