‘Tendulkar should play his natural game’

PORT ELIZABETH, Nov 28: Pakistan's cricketing legend Wasim Akram on Tuesday asked Indian batting maestro Sachin Tendulkar to show the same aggression in his approach on the trouble-hit South African tour as West Indian genius Brian Lara.

"Your batting is looking below average and they (the Proteas) are looking out of it. For the first time in last five years, I am seeing an Indian batting line-up below par," said Wasim while speaking to an India-based tv channel after Rahul Dravid’s men once again surrendered abjectly to South Africa in the third ODI in Cape Town on Sunday.

"I have been watching Sachin. He has achieved everything. Now he should be taking the attack to the bowlers like Lara does. People say he has big responsibility on his shoulders but so does Lara.”

"Sachin should come out and play his shots, especially in one-day cricket. ” —Agencies
