Robbers loot 200 tolas of gold

RAWALPINDI, Nov 28: Four robbers forced their way into the house of a jeweller in Satellite Town in the wee hours of Tuesday and made away with 200 tolas of gold valuing Rs2.8 million, police said.

Sheikh Abdul Latif, a resident of E-65, complained to the New Town police that someone knocked at their door in the wee hours of Tuesday morning. Scarcely had he opened the door when three persons pushed him inside, while the fourth person stood at the door. The robbers held Abdul Latif and his family at gunpoint and made away with 200 tolas of gold and four cellphones after locking them in a room.

Earlier, three robberies were committed in different parts of the city in which cash and jewellery were looted.

Sajid Mehmood complained to Sadiqabad police that three robbers entered his house and made off with Rs85,000 and jewellery.

Tahir Badaruddin complained to the RA Bazaar police that two persons snatched his car at gunpoint.
