Two Chinese engineers, worker killed

CHAKWAL, Nov 25: Two Chinese engineers were killed while working at a private cement plant here on Saturday, police said.

They said Homing, 38, and Sam Gunj, 23, entered a crushing plant of the Best Way Cement in Tatrla Kahoon to detect some fault. As soon as the fault was removed, the plant starting operating, crushing the two engineers inside, they added.

On getting information, District Co-ordination Officer Babar Khan Nasir and District Police Officer Ahmad Ishaq Jahangir rushed to the spot and got the bodies shifted to the Chinese embassy in Islamabad, from where they would be flown to China.

Gilgit Correspondent Adds: A Chinese worker died of head injuries on falling from a motor lifter at the 18MW Naltar Hydel Power Project site here on Friday.

The body of the Chinese worker was brought to a nearby hospital where doctors, one of them Chinese, pronounced him dead.
