LAHORE, Nov 25: A match-winning goal by Asif Tiwana in the third chukker put Red Mountain Suria Resort in the Future Concern Polo Cup final defeating Adisseo 5- 4/1 2 on Saturday.
The winners will meet Artex in the final. Artex earned a facile 6-3 win against First Law Company in another match of the day.
Adisseo, who had half -goal handicap, led the first chukker 2 1/2-1 as Ali Riaz and Usman Haye scored one each. Qadeer Ashfaq reduced the margin for the winners.
The second chukker saw Red Mountain recover to gain 4-3 1/2 lead as Hassan Ali Farrukh pumped in two goals while Samee Ibrahim chipped in with a goal.
Usman scored his second for the losers.
In the beginning of the third chukker, Adisseo again earned the lead 4 1/2-4 as Ali Riaz slammed his his second goal.
But it remained intact for a short time as Asif scored the winner in the dying minutes of the same chukker to complete the tally.
Two goals each by Junaid Ahmad, Hashim Kamal Agha and Ahmed Ali Tiwana paved way for Artex to move into the final.
For First Law Company Raja Amer Khan (2) and Faisal Khokhar (1) were the scorers.
A rally of three goals in the fourth chukker by Sameer Habib Oberoi and Ashfaq steered Harvesters to a 5-4 win against Rangers to enter the subsidiary final.
Two teams were on even keel 1-1 in the first chukker as Sameer Habib Oberoi drew first blood for the winners while Amanat restored the parity for the losers.
Two-goal Samir Malik put Rangers 3-1 ahead scoring one in the second chukker and the other at the start of the third chukker.
But soon Ashfaq, reduced it to 3-2 scoring his first. But it was Amanat who struck his second in the dying minute of the third chukker to make it 4-2.
Harvesters, however, dominated the fourth chukker scoring three goals in a row to turn the tables over Rangers.
First Sameer scored back-to-back goals to level the score 4-4 and then Ashfaq found the target in the dying minutes to score the winner.
A decisive goal by Kashif Jamal in the extra fifth chukker also helped Lahore Nights to qualify for the subsidiary final edging out Millat Tractors 4-3.
The losers led the first chukker 2-1. Ahmad Nawaz Tiwana, who scored two in the match, hit his first followed by a goal from Kamran Nooruddin. The winners scored their first through Kashif Jamal, who scored two in the match.
Naveed M Sheikh put the winners 3-2 ahead by scoring one goal each in the second and third chukker. But Ahmad Nawaz Tiwana fired his second in the fourth chukker to restore the parity (3-3) before Kashif banged home his second in the fifth chukker to seal the fate of the match.
