LAHORE, Nov 25: International Olympic Committee (IOC) president Jacques Rogge was given a detailed briefing by Pakistan Olympic Association (POA) president Syed Arif Hasan at the Olympic House on Saturday.
Later the POA ,issued a press release, which stated the IOC president was highly impressed with the working of the National Olympic Committee.
The POA's forthcoming Youth Development Programme and Vision and Planning were specially praised by Rogge.
The IOC president also congratulated POA over its improved performance in the SAF Games-2006 and said Pakistan became the first country of the area where almost all the national sports federation had given 20 per cent representation to the women.
The POA president assured Rogge his organisation would not rest on the current achievements but would launch brisk campaign for further development of sports.
He said the first task of the POA was to install professionalism and put in robust and dynamic systems for future development.
IOC representative in Pakistan Syed Shahid Ali also attended the briefing.
