TOBA TEK SINGH, Nov 25: Complainants in an honour killing case turned out to be killers during police investigation here on Saturday.
Police later arrested three people, including two brothers, in the double murder case of Chak 56 GB, Kamalia.
Reports said Sharif’s wife Kausar of Baloch family had illicit relations with Murtaza Gujjar and eloped with him. Sharif succeeded in contacting them in Lahore and brought them back with the promise that they would not be punished. Later, he along with his brother Hanif and cousin Shaheen Ahmad strangled the couple at their outhouse and threw the body of Kausar in fields and that of Murtaza in Ravi near Mauza Mull Fatiana by hiring a taxi.
Sharif then got registered murder case of his wife against Murtaza and later pressurised the police to arrest the accused and his relatives.
Toba DPO Munawar Husain called both the parties for investigation at his office and a number of villagers also reached there. During arguments by both the parties, suddenly a taxi driver whose cab was used by the accused persons to carry the bodies said the complainant party had forcibly called him from his village (Chak 718 GB).
In the presence of newsmen, the complainant party confessed to the crime and the police arrested Sharif, Hanif and Shaheen.
CASE FILED: Chuttiana police on Saturday registered a case against 22 people of opponent party of newly elected union council No.48 nazim Amjad Husain.
Police said dozens of nazim’s supporters had brought out a procession to celebrate the victory in by-election at Chak 319 GB where the defeated candidate’s men attacked them, injured some of them and damaged their two cars.
