Another suspect held in journalist’s murder case

ISLAMABAD, Nov 25: An employee of a food outlet in Islamabad was picked up by the local police for interrogation in connection with the murder of senior journalist Malik Mohammad Ismail Khan, sources told Dawn here on Saturday.

A man, in his 20s, was picked up by Kohsar police last week for interrogation. But so far the police have remained unsuccessful in obtaining any vital information from him.

Record of the mobile number in use of Ismail Khan revealed that the deceased had dialled the suspect’s number and also received his calls on several occasions, the sources added.

Another employee of the food outlet, on the condition of anonymity, confirmed that his colleague had been picked up by the police. Efforts are underway to get him released from police custody as there was no evidence of his involvement in the journalist’s murder, he claimed.—Staff Reporter
