Peace accord in Nepal welcomed

ISLAMABAD, Nov 25: Pakistan has welcomed the peace accord signed between the Government of Nepal and the Communist Party of Nepal (Maoists) on November 21.

“Pakistan considers the accord as a significant and a right step towards sustainable peace, progress and prosperity of Nepalese people,” said a statement issued by the Foreign Office on Saturday.

“Pakistan respects the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Nepal and is desirous of stability and prosperity in the South Asian region,” it said.
