KARACHI: Move to shift WSD offices slammed

By Our Staff Reporter

KARACHI, Nov 23: A large number of workers of the director-general (designs), Work and Services Department, have urged the authorities to withdraw decision on shifting of the department to Hyderabad.

In a signed statement assistants, stenographers, draughtsmen, clerks, naib qasids, watchmen and sanitary workers of the department said they would suffer if the office was shifted as low-paid employees were doing part-time employment here to make both ends meet as they could not survive on single salary.

They claimed that the competent authority to shift the office was the chief minister, while this order to shift the office had been issued without his knowledge.
