KARACHI: IJT protest ban on unions

KARACHI, Nov 21: The Islami Jamiat-i-Talba on Monday organised a students’ rally against secular education system and ban on students’ union in its ongoing countywide “Save Education, Save the Country” drive.The rally, led by IJT Nazim Nasrullah Khan and JI Karachi Amir Dr Merajul Huda Siddiqui, marched from the DUHS to Merewether Tower.

Holding placards and banners, protesting students demanded withdrawal of decisions regarding ban on unions, changes in syllabus, four-year degree programme and formation of Aga Khan Education Board. Addressing the rally, Nasrullah Khan said rulers were putting country’s sovereignty at risk by adopting anti-Islamic policies on the US directives. —PPI
