Probe into wheat scam

GILGIT, Nov 18: The Regional Accountability Bureau has launched investigations into alleged embezzlement of wheat and other essential items by Northern Areas civil supply and food department officials.

Sources told Dawn six officials had been accused of embezzlement. They said that ACSI Mohammad Wali had been accused of embezzling Rs1.2 million, ACSI Aazer of Rs800,000, ACSI Mohammad Amin of Rs850,000, ACSI Israr Rahim of Rs1.2m, Facho Hussain of Rs1.1 million and Ghulam Shabbir of Rs700,000.
